Sinus preparations for implants were once in the domain of maxillofacial surgeons. But we’ve brought them into the clinic with our sinus lifts Marylebone, bringing together everything needed for more complicated forms of implantation. Let’s find out how this can affect you.
Implant complications
Have you been looking for a provider of dental implants? Perhaps you’ve been told that your case is inappropriate or complicated? Have you experienced rejection from other clinics? There are a wide range of factors that can impact the suitability of dental implants. Lifestyle choices like dietary, smoking or poorly controlled diabetes are a few. Whereas the others involve long-term medical conditions like autoimmune disorders or osteoporosis. Either way, the common theme is that there is a reduction in volume and bone density of the jaw or a significant reduction in the speed of bone growth, making the implant more challenging to place. Or, if placed, it is less likely to become fixed in its new location in the bone.
In our clinic, we don’t reject complicated cases out of hand. Instead, we have integrated many of the preparation procedures and surgeries into our clinic services like the sinus lifts Marylebone, bone and gum grafting. Bringing together the skills, expertise and procedures to make a success of cases often deemed inappropriate by other surgeries.
How sinus lifts are performed
The procedure is similar to bone grafting in that the piece of bone is placed behind the upper jaw but from within the sinus cavity. This also lifts the sinus, creating the additional space for the bone that will go on to support a future implant.
The chosen bone is removed from an appropriate portion of the lower jaw. A hole is cut in the roof of the mouth, giving access to the sinus. From here the graft can be placed at the front of the sinus using a set of articulated surgical tools, similar to those used in keyhole surgery. The length of sinus lifts Marylebone can vary significantly. It is usually completed in less than 30 minutes but a better estimate of how long any treatment will take can only be given after a foundation and a set of X-rays exploring what complications may arise.
Advanced dental procedures
Bringing some of the more complicated aspects of dentistry into the clinic has been challenging. We not only have had to invest in new equipment but substantially more skills are required and many are beyond the scope of a standard dentistry degree. We have invested significantly in additional training for our staff, giving them appropriate surgical skills and techniques to carry out these invasive procedures safely and efficiently in our local clinic. Leading to us to taking on more referrals from other surgeries and providing a greater range of in-depth treatment for our community.
We are currently accepting applicants for the surgery, so if you’re curious about how we could help you with complicated implantation or advanced dental procedure, please feel free to get in contact at any time. If you leave your query and a return number, we will be happy to get back to you when the surgery is operating.
